Saints

These are personal essays I've created for my inquiry of a Patron Saint. They are drafts but I feel they are good enough to be posted. Perhaps.

Saint Barbara;

Saint Barbara’s father, who was a wealthy aristocrat, kept her in a tower to discourage Christianity from reaching her, yet the tower was not untouchable by Christ Himself. A very foolish thought from her father, whom was a pagan, that He cannot touch anything on this world. Her father built a bathhouse for his daughter, only two windows but later Saint Barbara noticed third one was made, symbolizing the Trinity. When her father came back from his trip and questioned her about this, she told him of her conversion. He was so angered, he tortured his daughter and beheaded her on a mountain. As he was ascending down the mountain covered in the cruel acts he has committed to his own daughter, lightning strikes and it had consumed him. His sword remains, Matthew 10:34-36. Her feast day is December 4th, she is patron of artillerymen. Growing up I have always had a metaphorical tower, it always felt high. It felt so high sometimes that I assumed God could probably never even climb up it. He always did, I just never noticed the extra presence. I have never once been without God in my life, especially when I do not deserve His love to surround me as much as it has.
