First, lets start with small things you'll need.
Filegarden is AMAZING, you can keep all your images in a 'garden', you can
upload an image via link, and you get access to everything all the time. CHEFS KISS. I recommend finding images via
tumblr, but you can honestly use anything.
If you don't know how to code a layout there's a ton of presets you can use!

Repth has some premade layouts, POMELO.lol has super cute ones I love, Neothemes is fine, never personally used them. I love
stealing ribo.zone's snippets but you can check out the layouts, and honestly their free
stuff here.
